A Fun New Festival in Tularosa, New Mexico

On Friday September 16 and Saturday September 17, Sheehan Winery participated in New Mexico's newest wine festival, the Tularosa Wine & Art Festival. As a first-time event, it was a little slower than organizers expected but it was fun for Sean Sheehan and winery right-hand, Crystal Anderson. They managed to sell wine and make a lot of new friends on the main drag in the town residents affectionately call "Tulie." It was a great to see a new wine festival on the calender and we look forward to it getting bigger each year. It featured wine, live music and great art. Way to go, Tulie!

Labor Day weekend - Sheehan Winery at two festivals, people loved the wines!

During Labor Day weekend 2016, Sheehan Winery had a presence at two awesome wine festivals at once. We were at the two-day New Mexico Wine and Jazz Festival at the Expo New Mexico in Albuquerque and also at the three-day Harvest Wine Festival at the Dona Ana County Fairgrounds in Las Cruces. Both events were very well attended and featured great regional wines, live music, food, dancing and arts and crafts. Sheehan Winery got a tremendous amount of buzz for our high-quality wines and excellent serving staff. People especially enjoyed our award-winning Moscato, which was the perfect antidote to hot weather and lots of New Mexico sunshine. The next event is the Tularosa Basin Wine and Art Festival September 16 and 17 in Downtown Tularosa. Join us for the fun!

Exciting Times for Sheehan Winery - Adding New Wines, Increasing Inventory and Soon - Harvest!

We have added new wines to our line-up of fabulous, all-natural New Mexico wines. Winemaker Sean Sheehan has recently bottled a new, charming dry rose wine called Cinsault Rose. Made from the French cinsault grape, the wine has a lovely deep pink blush color and dry finish. It will be available at the winery and also for tasting at the next two wine festivals over Labor Day weekend. The wine festivals are the New Mexico Wine and Jazz Festival Sept. 3-4 at the New Mexico Expo's Villa Hispana in Albuquerque and the Harvest Wine Festival Sept. 3-5 at the Southern New Mexico State Fairgrounds in Las Cruces, NM.

We have also introduced a Malvasia Bianca, a fruit-forward, semi-sweet white wine. It is the perfect late summer, early autumn wine! You can find information on the wines at our "Shop" page and more information on the festivals at our "Upcoming Events" page. As always, we love to hear from you!

Get Away from the Big City and Join Sheehan Winery in Cloudcroft, NM

It's time for the annual Cloudcroft Art and Wines in the Cool Pines festival in Cloudcroft, NM! Sean Sheehan, our founder and winemaker, will be there pouring all the winery's wines. Those wines includes our newest two: A lovely pink dry rose made from the cinsault grape, and a fruit-forward white wine called Malvasia Bianca. Of course, we still will pour our fabulous Chambourcin, chardonnay, merlot and syrah, in addition to our sweeter wines Cielo Dulce and Danza del Fuego.

The festival runs all day Saturday August 6 and Sunday August 7. We hope to see you there!

Join us July 2 and July 3 at the Santa Fe Wine Festival!

Sheehan Winery will be pouring our wonderful New Mexico, all-natural wines at the Santa Fe Wine Festival at El Rancho de Las Golondrinas. First off, El Rancho de las Golondrinas is a fantastic place -- a Colonial era ranch that preserves early New Mexico history. Second of all, in addition to Sheehan Winery, there will be other wineries, food vendors, arts, crafts and historical enactments. You can ride the bus to the rancho or there is ample parking and $13 will get you in to enjoy everything. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Results of State Fair Wine Competition - Six Awards for Sheehan Winery

The results are in and they are great for Sheehan Winery! We submitted seven wines for the 2016 New Mexico State Fair Wine Competition -- the biggest in the state -- and were awarded six medals. Our 2012 Merlot took a Silver Medal, as did our 2014 Late Harvest Chambourcin dessert wine and our 2013 Chambourcin. Our 2014 Chardonnay was awarded a Bronze medal, as was our 2014 Moscato and our 2014 Syrah. Way to go Sheehan Winery!

Red River Wine Festival - A Blast in the Mountains

The Red River Wine Festival was Sheehan Winery's first out-of-Albuquerque wine festival and it was a great time. More laid-back than the Albuquerque Wine Festival, the Father's Day weekend event allowed us to really talk to festival goers. As a result, people bought wine by the case instead of by the bottle. It was a great way to connect with people from all over New Mexico and elsewhere and spread the word about Sheehan Winery!
