In February, the vineyard in Corrales looks pretty desolate. Vines are bare and it's hard to imagine that it will ever be spring time in the vineyard. Everything is brown and dusty. A few dry weeds. But look closer at the naked grape vines and you can see the beginnings of buds about to burst. It's a beautiful sight and gives faith that the cycle continues.

After pruning, the vines are symmetrical and even. Pruning will allow the vines to grow a good crop of grapes without too many branches and too many leaves.
