On Sunday, October 16, 2016 Sean Sheehan of Sheehan Winery hosted an absolutely wonderful Picking Party for about 40 friends and family members in the vineyard in Bosque Farms, south of Albuquerque. Under a blue sky and to the tunes of a professional DJ, the pickers harvested about 10 tons of beautiful chambourcin grapes. Chambourcin is Sheehan Winery's signature wine, which is the "pinot noir of the Southwest." 2016 proved to be a stellar year for the grapes and the clusters were heavy on the vines. After the harvest, everyone gathered in the backyard of the home to enjoy green chile enchiladas, salad and sangria made from Sheehan Winery wines. It was a great day and memorable harvest.
