SCROLL DOWN

Sheehan Winery

Sheehan Winery is committed to making high-quality, all natural, boutique wines in New Mexico. Our winery was founded in 2015 by Sean Sheehan, who learned the craft by serving for more than a decade as lead winemaker for other New Mexico wineries. Our wines are made exclusively from New Mexico-grown grapes. Sheehan Winery wines reflect the unique combination of sun, high altitude, dry climate and soil of the New Mexico climate. We invite you to enjoy them! Watch a video about Sheehan Winery focusing on winemaker Sean Sheehan! Our Wines

Award-winning wines

For award-winning winemaker Sean Sheehan, this winery represents the realization of a life-long dream.  At Sheehan Winery, our focus is on high-quality, handmade, limited release wines that not only delight the palate, but also help our community.  Thanks to our partnership with St. Anthony‚Äôs Alliance, a portion of the proceeds from each bottle sold goes to support healthcare and economic development projects here in our community, as well as throughout the world. Our wines have consistently been ranked among the best in New Mexico. In 2010, a 2006 Merlot handcrafted by our winemaker Sean Sheehan was awarded the Premier Award in the New Mexico Wine competition -- meaning that it was named the best wine in New Mexico for the year. Currently, Sheehan Winery produces thirteen exciting varietals including Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Gris and Moscato. In addition, we make several blends including Cielo Dulce and Slainte, a cabernet sauvignon and zinfandel blend.

We are located in the Vecinos del Bosque neighborhood of Albuquerque, just 2 miles from historic Old Town.

Our Vineyards

Our Vineyards

Sheehan Winery has vineyards in Corrales and Bosque Farms, in the rich river valley along the Rio Grande in Central New Mexico. The Corrales and Bosque Farms vineyards are well established and are the basis for our award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chambourcin wines. In addition, Sheehan Winery also sources high-quality grapes from other New Mexico growers, mostly in Southern New Mexico. Our wines are made exclusively from New Mexico-grown grapes.

Our Process

Our Process

Sheehan Winery wines utilize a mixture of traditional and modern techniques to make wines of incredible depth and complexity. We pick the grapes at their optimal physiological ripeness and destem directly into temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.  We are careful to treat each small batch with the upmost care to ensure that it expresses its true New Mexico terrior.  After primary fermentation we transfer our young wines to French Oak barrels to age and soften. Depending on the varietal, our wines will age from one to two years in the oak barrels.
